Flowers

I love making my own flowers!! I have shown you some on Scrap Time, but in this class there will be 20 Flower Tutorials all in one place!! The flowers will be made from fabric, ribbons, paper, canvas, burlap, lace, felt, glassine paper, tissue paper and other items that you probably have in your stash!! These are all easy flowers that anyone can make, you just need to be shown the ‘secret’ to how to make them!!

The great thing about hand made flowers is they can be used for so many things! I use them on scrapbook layouts, cards, altered projects, pins, hair clips, embellishments on gifts, home decor, as gifts…you can make them any size and any colour to suit your project!!

Are you a paper crafter and don’t have any fabric to use? You need the smallest amount of fabric for these flowers!! I use a lot of Gemma’s old clothes!! Once she has out grown them I add them to my stash and cut them up to make cute flowers!! No need to go out and buy any fabric, just look around your house!

Supplies used in the class:

Fabric – cotton, silk, canvas, burlap, felt, lace, denim
Paper – patterned, cardstock, tissue, glassine, japanese
Ribbon – all widths, twill, lace, satin, patterned
Washi Tape – solids and patterns, 1/4″ – 1/2″ wide
Embellishments – buttons, brads, beads, rhinestones
Adhesive – Glubers, Fabric Glue, paper glue, hot glue
Thread – sewing threads, embroidery thread and needles
Embellishments – beads, pearls, rhinestones, brads buttons

This is a general list. If you don’t have burlap, don’t worry about it. Watch the video and decide if you want to change out materials or even add in different materials. The goal is to use supplies you already have. I used tissue paper I got from stores in packaging and material from Gemma’s old clothing. Look around your house and see what you have available.

This class is up and ready to go!! 20 videos of Flower Fun just waiting for you!!

How much is the class? For 20 videos it is $25!! That is an amazing deal!! I hope you will join me this Summer making flowers!!

Fashion Doll Mosaic

Fashion Doll Die Class

I am so excited to be offering the Fashion Doll Die class online!! I have been playing with this die for over a year having so much fun! I have taught a version of this class in store and have done mini workshops and Make ‘n’ Takes at ScrapFest and the Creativ Festival!! And now I am bringing to you the BIGGER, BETTER version!! This class will have 25 videos showing you how to cut and alter the dies to make unique outfits. As well, there will be BONUS videos giving you even more ideas, including where I find my inspiration so you can continue on making more Fashion Dolls on your own!!

The Fashion Doll Class has all been posted! You can sign up today and all the information is waiting for you to enjoy it!! When you register I will send you an email within 24 hours giving you your passwords to access the blog and videos!

How much is the class? The Fashion Doll Die Class is $25!!! That’s $25 for 25 technique videos plus Bonus Videos!!

What do you need for the class? You will need the Fashion Doll Die and Fashion Doll Outfits Die by Quickutz (now Lifestyle Crafts). If you do not have the dies, you can possibly still find them on Amazon.

You will also need a Die Cutting Machine! Luckily Quickutz/Lifestyle Crafts dies work in all machines! They are referred to as a Thin Wafer Die.

To use the dies in a Lifestyle Crafts Epic 6:
- Grey cutting platform, die facing up, paper, cutting mat

To use the dies in a Lifestyle Crafts Revolution:
- place die facing up on platform, paper, cutting mat

To use dies in a Big Shot:
- using Multi-use platform with all the shims, place die and paper between 2 cutting mats

To use dies in a Cuttlebug:
- A platform, B plate, die facing up with paper, C plate

To use dies in a Wizard:
- platform, magnetic mat, die facing up with paper, cutting mat

To use dies in a Grand Calibur:
- platform, die facing up, paper, cutting mat

As well, you need paper! You can use scraps! I also like to use the paper pads! I look for small prints so they will show up once the piece is cut. As well, the paper pads are great because you know all the papers already coordinate together, taking away some of the guess work! And for the lady I generally use Black Cardstock. I sometimes cut her out of paper with text as well. I usually cut off her head, but you can leave her head on if it bugs you.

And you need Glue! I love to use the Scotch Quick-Dry Adhesive for die cutting! It has a fine point and does dry really quick! It’s available at Scrapbooks By Design and Simon Says Stamp.

We will talk about additional embellishments in one of the videos. But if you are out shopping you may also want to look for small embellishments- about 1/8″ – 1/4″ in size, or thin ribbons. These are optional. They are used later for dressing up the outfits.

Otherwise you are ready to go!

    fabulous job.
Can you tell me what is the name of the tape roller you used on your card for gluing down the tulle?
One more question what method of payment do we use?
I have the die sets, paper and lots of embellishments, now for the wait.

Just ordered my “school material” from Scrapbook by Design. I was thinking … Is it possible to glue the doll body on a magnet so that I can put it on the fridge for my grand-daughter to play with … And then I guess the clothes should also be on magnets too … Anyway, if you can include that aspect in your class, it would be real great. If not, that’s ok too.

Just signed up for the class. So excited.

Just wondering, will the classes be available for download? I don’t get wifi in my art studio & it’s easier to put them on my iPod then play them on my television.

The class starts July 4th. Once the videos are posted they will stay there for a minimum of 6 months for you to view. You can sign up at any time for the class. You are given passwords to access the videos. Because the videos are password locked I am not sure if they can be downloaded. The class is set up like the Scrap Time blog.
