Scrap Time - Part 3

Today I am showing you a bunch of products that Maggie Holmes designed for Crate Paper! I am starting with this cute mini book. I decided to do a book on Gemma’s older ballet pictures. I added the DIY Photo Overlays over all my pictures. I love these!! I also used the Book add-on kit, which included the sequins. In the video I show you my trick to add sequins to your projects. I also used some thickers, washi paper sheets, fabric polaroid frames, Rinestone clips and bows.

I also made an Art Journal page using the Polaroid frames, ephemera and sequins.

Finally I made a card using some of the ephemera, bow and sequins.

WW – Chewing Gum

April 26, 2013

Sometimes I find that I feel like eating something, but I’m not really hungry. I’m sure many of you have had times like that! So lately I have been turning to gum, rather than food. Not only is your mouth busy, but a lot of foods don’t go well with peppermint, so you don’t feel like eating after chewing gum. It’s a simple thing to try, especially when those late night munchies start knocking!

I am happy to say that I lost 1.8 lbs this week!

Ep. 857 – Lifestyle Crafts Detailz Dies

Today I am showing you the new Detailz Dies from Lifestyle Crafts. These dies cut and emboss! I have used the dies with the Letterpress Paper and cut them using the Epic 6 with the Genius Cutting Platform! Since the paper is thicker I was able to cut and emboss in 1 pass through. If you are using a thinner paper, you need to cut out your shape, then run it through a second time using the rubber mat and embossing plate.

Before starting I applied Distress Inks onto the paper to colour it. I then cut out my shape. I went over the embossed areas with a darker shade of the Distress Inks to highlight the embosses areas. I even went one step further by adding Glitter Glue over the raised areas. I used the Viva Colour Glitter Pens, but you could also use Stickles. I used the Up and Away, Labels and Flower Dies. I also use the Damask and Petals Printing Plates to create the texture on my cards.

Here are 2 more cards using the same techniques! This time I used the Wintertide and Tile printing plates.

Crafty Toronto – You’ve Changed

I was driving down Queen St W the other day and saw this painted on the side of the building and it really struck me. It made me stop and think of the ways I may have changed in the past year. Could be a good topic for an Art Journal or Scrapbook page.

Ep. 856 – Disney Album using Studio Calico Products

Today I am showing you my latest Disney album. Gemma and I went to Disney in March. I took the Studio Calico Handbook album and page refills with me, as well as my Selphy printer. I was able to complete all but the last 2 days of my trip while I was at Disney. Once I got home I just needed to print the remainder of my photos and add some journaling and the book was done! In the photo above I have used the pages with 2- 3×4 slots and a 4×6 slot. I had pre-cut some 4×6 pieces of the Here and There paper to use for our autographs. As well, I pre cut some 3×4 pieces to take to the KidCot stations around Epcot. I also used some journaling tags from Studio Calico. To make the most of the 4×6 spots, I sometimes printed 2 – 3×4 photos beside one another and printed them out and put them in the slot.

I used the Here and There Album Inserts to separate each of the days. This is where I wrote the bulk of my journaling for each day. On the left is a page with 2 – 4×6 slots. I just printed my pictures and added them in the book.

I also used the 6×8 pockets to put my larger sized ephemera that I picked up along the way.

And I added some smaller ephemera into the 3×4 pockets and the 4×6 pockets.

Finally, I used the folder page to include the maps from the parks.

By planning ahead and bringing a printer with you, you can scrapbook your vacations while you are away!

WW – Twistos

April 19, 2013

I am always looking for different snack foods to try out that won’t use up too many points! I recently came across these Twistos Baked Crackers. I bought the Cheddar and Chive flavour, which were very good. 1 serving is about 15 crackers and is 2PP. They also come in other flavours. You can find them in the cracker aisle.

I lost 0.2lbs this week! Every little bit adds up!!
