I love using the Crafter’s Workshop templates! I probably use them on 95% of my art journal pages. So it is great to discover some new techniques to try with the templates! I discovered this technique when making my 30 pages for my Art Journaling 3 class! And now I use it all of the time!
You start by spraying Dylusions Ink Sprays through the stencil of your choice. I am using the new stencils from Ronda Palazzari. Use a few colours of the ink on your page for the best effect. Don’t waste the ink on your stencil – stamp it off on another page, paper or tag! I then dry the ink with my Heat Tool, only for a few seconds. Once it is dry I paint over the page in White Paint. The paint will reactivate the ink and blend it together, but soften all of the brightness. You get this beautiful background that could not be accomplished any other way!
I then stencilled more of the 6×6 stencils on top using acrylic paint. I made the flower using the new Petals stencil and 3 colours of acrylic paint!
Scrapbook.com carries and huge selection of stencils and Simon Says Stamp carries a wide assortment of the 6″x6″ stencils. When you shop at both of these sites using our links Scrap Time receives a percentage of the sale and we appreciate your support!
On the next episode I am showing you the Spellbinders In’Spire Dies!
Thanks for watching!
