Ep. 916 – Scrap Time Celebrates 7 Years w/ a Tim Holtz Tag Giveaway!!

CHA Winter 2014 - Day 2

Wow!! It’s been 7 years of Scrap Time!! To celebrate, we have an exclusive video of Tim Holtz making us a tag!! He is using some of the Sand and Sea and Spring Greenery elements that we cut when we filmed the Sizzix Demo!! He uses Distress Paints to paint them! On the base of the tag he used Broken China and Peacock Feathers Distress Stains. He then added Tumbled Glass Distress Paint, using the Mini Ink Blending Tool through the Speckles Stencil. Next, he used Frayed Burlap Distress Ink through the Crocodile Stencil. He goes around the tag with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. He then sanded off a bit of the paint from the Grunge Board shapes and inked them with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. On the background he stamped the Distress Damask and Figure Stamps using Black Archival Ink. He adhered them with Multi-Medium. Finally, he finishes it off by using the Distress Spritzing Tool and the Black Soot Distress Marker.

The links in this post take you to Simon Says Stamp! Some of the products are available now and some are on pre-order!! When you shop at Simon Says Stamp using our links, Scrap Time receives a percentage of the sale and we appreciate your support!

Time for the contest!! Since we are celebrating 7 years of Scrap Time, leave us a comment, here on the Scrap Time blog, letting us know what some of your favourite products or videos were from the past 7 years!!

Contest closes Sunday, February 2nd, 2014 at 10pm EST!!!

Here is another video of the Mini Blending Tool being used with Distress Inks and Paints!

We still have more CHA videos that will be posted throughout the week! So keep checking back!!

While I am a relative newbie to Scrap Time, I have loved all the videos from the recent CHA and am slowing going through them. I have also checked out many from YouTube and love the way you number the videos. The washi tape video was great.

Wow! Has it been seven years since I’ve been watching you? I’ve really enjoyed watching all your videos throughout the years especially the ones from CHA – waiting to see all the new crafty goodness. I can especially remember the one where you showed working with pan pastels – and yes, after watching I had to have some for myself. I guess it’s your fault that I have so many different craft supplies, because when I see you use them, I have to get them!

Thanks for the chance at winning the awesome tag autographed by Tim himself!

Great job you 3…….. As far as the best videos, cannot choose——–They were all great, learned so much from you,,,,, if I had a question that i did not understand, I was able to write and you responded quickly with an explanation, great on line classes and your ibooks are my favs……… You should be a spoke person for Toronto for your shots of the city, decorations, what is happening there, who knew that there was a book bus that comes once a year, sure wish that i could see one of those and look at your book you have in there…………. Congrats to the Scraptime, to all the hours, time, putting all the projects together, demonstating, filming, and for the 3 of ya’s ………….. Hugs

Christine, Congrats on your seven years. I don’t know if I have been following you that long, but it has been a while. I always look forward to watching your videos from CHA, especially the videos of Tim Holtz. You and Mark are right up front and get all of the information on new products, and all of the action of Tim’s creativity. I appreciate all of the time you spend in putting these videos together and sharing with all of us. I often go back and re-watch your videos if I’m considering purchasing a product, or to remind me of how to use a product. Please keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing what you come up with in the future. BTW-I would love to win Tim’s tag.

I have been a fan for a few years now and love that you demo so many new products. You are the reason I’m so crazy for stencils. A few years ago you showed us stencils from Crafters Workshop and I watched that video over and over. Thank you for all your hard work these years.

How can you pick a favourite when they all have been so informative. This is the best place to find out what is new in the world of crafting or to find out how to do something. You make it less intimidating to try a new technique and the videos make you want to try everything. If I was pushed to choose just one I guess I would say the Gelli Arts video. Only because I have become additted to my plate!
Congratulations on your seven years. I am only sad that I didn’t find out about you earlier but I guess my pocket book is much happier that it has only been about a year!
I hope that you will make another seven years! Many thanks for all your hard work

Chrisitine & Mark congratulations on 7 years – wow does time fly. I enjoy all of your videos but the ones you make from CHA are in a class by themselves. You have this uncanny ability to not only show the new items & techniques but also show the personality of each individual that you film. Your videos of Tim Holtz not only capture his creativity but the personality of Tim comes through. I don’t find that quality on other videos. Thank you both for your hard work!

Christine, Congratulations on your 7 Year…Anniversary/Birthday!! Has the past 7 years been more like giving birth or being married? Lol. Either way, Celebrate!! I’m sure it is difficult to giveaway a tag that Tim H has signed. Lol. Hopefully you got 2 tags from him. I have been following your YouTube Channel for a little over a year and I’m now following your Blog. I always love your reviews of new products and the fact that you give great ideas and examples on what to make with the new product. I love love your CHA videos, too, and learning whats new with Ranger/Tim H products and how to use them. Thank you for all your hard work in bringing the CHA vids to us, especially when we can’t attend.

Wow! Congrats on the 7 yr anniversary. And 7 is my favorite number too. I don’t know that I can even pick a favorite episode, too many great ones to choose from. Of course the CHA coverage is the best anywhere, so that is always at the top, but you have given me so much inspiration over the years and I can’t even guess how long I’ve been following you! I love seeing all the new products and tools and getting so many great ideas from you. Thanks for all you have done to inspire and motivate me to create. I know I wouldn’t even know what Pan Pastels were if it weren’t for you and I do love them! Thanks for the chance to win this fabulous tag from one of my favorites. Here’s to another 7 yrs and more!

Seeing them in use really made me want to try them. Great video. All your videos are great. I always look forward to a new one.

Lucky for me, I discovered your videos at about that time when I was getting started in this wonderful paper crafting world. You have taught me so much!! I love all your videos, but especially the ones from CHA that feature Tim Holtz as he demos his products. It’s almost like being there! Thanks for your hard work and for giving us the opportunity to win the fabulous Tim tag.

Congrats on 7 years. I’m new to you and I watch and study the videos regularly. I do believe the layering stencil from cha 2013 has to be my all time favorite of any video and podcast I have EVER seen. I listen to it and can get to work in 13:01.The video infused my art and made be a believer in in stamps and stencils. I play it repeatedly and follow all the steps making variations to create new ideas. My art is in a journal style. I have one page left to complete my journal. Thanks, without you and Tim I would just be sitting on the couch. Thanks, again Christine.

Wow! Seven years!? I guess I have been hiding under a rock because I am a newbie to all of this! I discovered Tim Holtz on YouTube just before Christmas and have been searching and watching vids for weeks now learning techniques and discovering all the great products he has! I purchased quite a bit to start playing with but doesn’t compare to how much all you crafters out there have! Gosh, there are sooo many vids that I have faved but right now my fave is the layering of stencils and using the brand new ROUND MINI BLENDER! I can’t wait to get them!
The first vid shown here is what led me here to enter! Thank you for a great opportunity to win one of these tags! I would really like to see one up close and in hand!!!
Thank you Scraptime! And congrats to Tim Holtz! I wanna marry that guy! LOL!
