Ep. 909 – Gilt Trip by Laura Childs & Giveaway!!

Scrap time

Today I am talking about the latest Scrapbooking Mystery by Laura Childs – “Gilt Trip”. I have been reading Laura’s books since the beginning! There are already 10 books available! They centre around Carmela, who owns a Scrapbooking Store in New Orleans and her best friend Ava. Carmela has a knack for stumbling across murders, this time being no different. While at a party, she finds the guest-of-honor dead in the Dryer! So, of course, she has to find out who did it!!

On top of the great mystery, Laura also adds Scrapbooking tips and New Orleans recipes to each of her books!

I highly recommend this book, along with all of the other Scrapbooking Mysteries! They should be available at most book stores! I know that our Library also carries them!!

Or, you can win your own autographed copy, right here on Scrap Time!! Leave a comment, here on the Scrap Time blog, letting me know if you have read any of the Scrapbook Mysteries and which was your favourite!!

Contest closes Sunday, December 15th at 10pm EST!!

On the next episode I am showing you the Powerocks Super Magicstick!

Thanks for watching!

Hi Christine! I’ve never read any of these books. But it sounds like it would be a good read! Thanks for the chance to win it!

I have read ALL of Laura Child’s scrapbooking mysteries except this one. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I think I would have to pick Tragic Magic because it revolves around Halloween and it’s fun to read about her and Ava decorating that big haunted house. Thanks so much for the chance to win!

I have not read any Laura Child’s books, I did read one about scrapbooking by a different author, can’t remember right now, and also one book about a knitting store, loved both of them. I’m sure I would love this series, I will definitely be checking it out. I love to read–don’t have as much time now but when I was younger I was crazy about it–especially mysteries! Thanks for chance to win–and I have to say you are looking marvelous!

I love her books and get them from our local library! The most recent one I have read was Skeleton Letters, and enjoyed it a lot. Another author who writes about scrapbooking mysteries is Joanna Cambell Slan with her character Kiki Lowenstein. Worth checking out!

I have read a couple of the first books in this series and the funny thing is that we just had our Christmas Crop at My Happy Place Scrapbooking and Crafting and my secret Santa gave me 3 books from this series. Can’t wait to get started reading them. It would be so fun to have the newest one and an autographed copy at that! Thanks for the chance to win!
