Crafty Toronto – My Christmas Party!

Christmas Party 2012

Last Sunday we hosted a Sweetacular Christmas Party and I wanted to share with you some of the goodies I made and the recipes. We tried to stick to a Pink & White theme.

Christmas Party 2012

Let’s start with these melt in your mouth French Meringues!! I made these a couple weeks ago for the School Bake Sale. I had spooned them on to the tray. They were good. But this time I piped them and now they are delicious!! I have eaten too many of these! My suggestion is to get a large piping bag so it won’t be as messy!! They are so light and sinfully good!!

Christmas Party 2012

This was a Pinterest recipe, Carmelitas! If you like caramel, like I do, you will love these. I have been good and only tasted these, as they are rich in calories. They were fairly easy to make, you just need to let them cool for a long while.

Christmas Party 2012

These are Cinnamon Roll Cookies. These took a long time to make. You make the dough, refrigerate it. Roll out the dough, add the butter/cinnamon/sugar mix, roll it up and refrigerate it. Cut them, bake them, let the cool. When cool add icing. I did them over 3 days. They were okay, but I don’t think I will make them again.

Christmas Party 2012

Coconut Macaroons! I personally don’t like coconut but Mark and Gemma said these were good. They are made with condensed milk, therefore they were moist in the middle.

Christmas Party 2012

Peanut Butter Cup Squares! These I loved!! With the addition of graham cracker crumbs gave them the texture of Peanut Butter Cups that you buy!! Yummy!

Christmas Party 2012

White Chocolate Mint Mousse. I added pink food colouring to go with our theme, but it made people think it was Strawberry mousse. I enjoyed this mousse, but it wasn’t a hit at the party. Not many people tried it and we had a lot left over. I don’t think I would make a mousse again. I added Chocolate Cookie Crumbs to the bottom of the cup as well.

Christmas Party 2012

You can’t have a sweet party without some brownies! These are called The Best Brownies Ever. Not sure if that’s the case, but they were very good. I would make this recipe again.

Christmas Party 2012

Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies! These are basic Chocolate Cookies, but I added 1 cup of Mint Chocolate Chips and 1 cup of Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips. I had a hard time finding Mint Chocolate Chips. I finally found some Presidents Choice ones at the 3rd Loblaws I went to!!

We also made a lot of Chocolate dipped items! Above are our Chocolate dipped pretzels in white, milk & dark chocolate!

Christmas Party 2012

I hate making Sugar Cookies, but Gemma loves them. We made snowflakes with Pink icing, of course. We also made chocolate clusters. Above is white chocolate with cranberries, cashews and toffee.

Christmas Party 2012

Milk Chocolate Ruffle Potato Chips!! These are my new favourite treat!! I can’t believe how good these are. The salt with the chocolate and the crunch!! SO Yummy!!!

Christmas Party 2012

Dark Chocolate Bark with cranberries, almonds, peanuts, cashews and toffee bits. Need I say more.

Christmas Party 2012

Milk and Dark Chocolate Licorice. We have bought this in stores and loved it! It is so easy to make and tastes so good!

Christmas Party 2012

Dark and Milk Chocolate dipped Marshmallows! Another yummy and cute treat!

As you can tell I was busy last week baking up a storm! We had about 30 people over and after the party I was able to make 11 plates to hand out to teachers and friends as a Holiday gift. Plus I kept our favourites for ourselves (see Meringues and Chocolate dipped liquorice).

Please feel free to share some of your favourite recipes!!
