So last week I was in Chicago for a week. We spent 2 1/2 days downtown and 3 1/2 days at CHA. I tried to pre-track where and what I planned on eating and this did work a bit. However, there are so many Chicago temptations. So yes, I ate that Cheesey Hot Dog in the photo. I also ate Deep Dish Giordano’s pizza, ribs and onion strings from Weber’s, Cupcakes from Sprinkles, I had a bottle of Blue Moon beer each day, plus more. However, I started my day with fruit and tried to keep lunch to a minimum. While downtown we walked a lot, but the CHA show was small and I barely got any Activity Points. By the end of the week, when all was tallied I did come in a bit under my allowance, but that was because I earned and ate over 30 Activity points!
So I knew I had until Wednesday, when I was going to go to a meeting, to try and work off some of the weight. I walked 5K each morning, then tried to add in more walking later in the day. I went to see Coldplay on Monday and Tuesday and danced for 2 hours each night, plus walked to and from the venue. In the end, I managed to lose 1.8 lbs!!
But now, I have 5 days in Montreal!! There’s Poutine in Montreal – French Fries, gravy and cheese curds; fresh bagels; and smoked meat sandwiches!! At least we plan on doing a lot of walking!!
