Ep. 781 – Tim Holtz Distress Marker Technique

Scrap Time - Ep. 781 - Tim Holtz Distress Markers

Last January Tim Holtz introduced his Distress Markers. They come in 36 colours to co-ordinate with the core Distress Ink Colours. They also have the same properties as Distress Inks, such as reacting with water. There is a brush end and a detailed tip. There are many ways to use them. Today I am showing you how to use them with Crafter’s Workshop Templates. I take 2 or 3 colours that blend well together and colour in a template. Then I spritz water to activate the colour and let it run and blend over the background. As you can tell from the picture above, the more water you use, the more the design fades into the background. So depending the look you are going for will depend how much water you use. Start with a bit and keep adding it until you are happy!!

    Dear Christine,

I just discovered your blog, and I love it! I recently viewed your Amy Tangerine Daybook project via YouTube. How did you print the little pictures? Did you put your Daybook after your trip — to give you time to print the photos?

I want to make a Daybook like yours, but I don’t see how I’ll be able to print the photos while traveling. Let me know how you made your book. Thanks!
