Ep. 736 – Love My Tapes Washi Tape

Scrap Time - Ep. 736 - Washi Tape from Love My Tapes

It is no secret, I am a huge fan of Washi Tape. I have over 200 rolls, yet still have no problem adding more to my collection. That is why I was so excited to see all the new Washi Tape that Love My Tapes is offering! With so many prints and colours it is just such a happy product! Now I know there are people out there that don’t quite understand Washi Tape and are not sure how to use it, but the secret to using Washi Tape is don’t really put too much thought into it, just use it! I use it to decorate gifts. I will wrap a give in plain paper, such as Kraft, and then wrap Washi Tape all over it! When I send out letters I put a bunch of tape on the envelope. Make cards by laying on strips of tape. You can stamp on the tape using Ranger Archival Ink or Staz-On. On your Scrapbook layouts use it instead of ribbon. Use it to make an interesting background. Use it as the matte for a picture! There are so many ways to use it, the goal is to try it! The great thing about Washi Tape as well is that it is low-tac, so if you put it down and you don’t like it, just pull it off. It won’t ruin your paper!!

So now that I have convinced you to use your tape, here are a few cards I made!

On this first card I tore off small strips of the tape and applied it in rows. I love all the patterns together!

Here I applied the tape in a diagonal pattern.

I wanted to show you that some of the tape forms a repeat pattern.

Here is an argyle tape.

Here I made a grid with the tapes.

And with this card I had fun just layering the tape onto the card!

Hopefully this gives you some quick ideas of ways to use your tapes! Depending on the tapes you use you can make cards for any occasion! It is quick to do! Perfect for giving as a card or making a set to give as a gift!

All of these and more tapes will be up on the Love My Tapes site next week! As well, check out their blog to see more of the designs that are coming soon!

    Christine –

Great video! You have me hooked on Washi Tape. I saw the video you did a while back on how you store some of the tapes. Do you store all of them like that? I can’t believe you have over 200 rolls – LOL!

I have 2 Ikea boxes full of tape, then 1 Press n’ Seal box, plus a little stand on my table. They are all over flowing. I have 2 more Press n’ Seal boxes but haven’t decorated them yet.

Love what you do with the Washi tape! My favorite from this video is the argyle.
When my prize pkg came from you I knew as soon as I saw it in the door that it was from you. With all the Washi decorating it, who else would it be from. Loved it, sure made me smile!
    Thanks for another great video!

I found I wasn’t using my tapes much since they were stored in a way that made it hard to get them out and put them away. I changed that system and now they are one of the first things I am grabbing. The difference organization makes! Always love your videos. And BTW cute fingernails!

Love these, but where do you get them in the GTA?? I am in Oakville and shop online a lot and at my local Michaels. Sometimes on eBay… and I am getting so frustrated that I can’t find adhesive tapes anywhere. Would appreciate any tip!
