Ep. 689 – Spellbinder Dies and ClearSnap Ink by Donna Salazar!

Scrap Time - Ep. 689 - Spellbinder Dies and ClearSnap Ink by Donna Salazar!

Today I am showing you some new dies from Spellbinders and some new inks and sprays from ClearSnap, both designed by Donna Salazar! The first set of dies I am showing you are the Creative Book Pages Two. This set co-ordinates with the previous released set, Creative Book Pages. This new set gives you more book pages, tags and edges that fits nicely with the first set.

I love the Wonderful Wings dies! You get 5 different solid butterflies, plus a co-ordinating decorative butterfly to layer on top. For my book, I used the Butterflies as a mask, and sprayed over it with the Cashmere Smooch Spritz! You can see how the butterflies pop off the front cover.

Here is the Grand Peony Creations! I used the dies to cut the various sizes of flowers, and then I sprayed them with the Gingerale Smooch Spritz. I folded all the petals up to give the flower more dimension. I used the Bonjour Collection from KaiserCraft for this book. I cut the leaves out and while they were still in the die, I inked them up with the ClearSnap Mixed Media inks in Truffle by Donna. I then sprayed them with Candle Glow Smooch Spritz.

You can see inside the book at the different layers of paper. I used the butterflies here as page tabs. I also used the Shadow Flowers die on a couple of the pages – you can see that in the video.

In the video I show you how to make this book using the Miss Nelly Collection by KaiserCraft.

Here is an inside look of the book!!

I think these books are fun and easy to make! This would be a great way to do a 25 Days of Christmas book without too much trouble or time! It’s also a fun way to make your own Smash book!

Check out the Spellbinders site to see all of their new dies! As well as the ClearSnap site to find out about all of their products!

I really like the idea of using a border die with folded pieces. That got me thinking about a new way to make my books. Thanks for the inspiration!

I always love your videos Christine. Thanks for this one. I know you are mainly doing a Spellbinders demo but don’t forget that there is a Big Shot Pro that does all the biggest die cut dies as well. I love the Big Shot Pro and when I decided to go with the Grand dies from Spellbinders I wanted a machine that could do it all. I am very happy with that decision. Just thought you should qualify the statement that there was no other machine besides Grand Caliber that could handle these big Donna Salazar thin dies.

Thanks for your comment. I had completely forgotten about the Big Shot Pro! That is a 12″ wide machine that will take all dies on the market!!

Thanks for the fun video. I have some of those dies and can’t wait to “steal” your idea. A little Christmas book would be so cute.

Hi Christine, you mention that these dies would make a good Smash book. What’s a Smash book? Thanks.
